About Our Site

YourPrivacy was formed to offer a unique reference point on protecting your privacy and anonymity.
Every day we hear stories in the media about 'Big Brother' and the measures that the government seems to be taking to keep an eye on us - identity cards, DNA records, and even spying on our dustbins to make sure we don't throw anything out that should have been recycled.
It's important that people know their legal rights, and what kind of information different organisations and authorities are actually allowed to hold about them. It's also important that people know how to protect their privacy when dealing with telephone calls, mail, and using the Internet. Personal information can be used without your consent or knowledge, and it's vital that you learn how to protect yourself from identity fraud and other illegal activities.
In a world where almost anything you do can be traced and used for inappropriate means, we explain how to avoid being caught out and how to find out what information is held about you.
We hope that you find the information here on YourPrivacy useful, come back often, and if you have any questions for our experts, please contact us and we'll do our best to find you an answer.
Our concern was that there was no single UK resource for interesting features and practical advice on this subject.
Our features and articles are written by experts - who have experience, or a particular interest in this area.
